Work 2026
This page collects my 2026 work as it’s created and released. I’m currently building the Chromatic Coastlines series; additonal work will be added as the year unfolds.
Works on Paper / Studio Series
Works on Paper explores the interplay of gesture, material, and chance. India ink moves across translucent Japanese paper in washes, pools, lines, and fragmented marks, while metallic alcohol inks introduce moments of light and reflection. The visible fibers, irregularities, and movement of the paper become part of each composition rather than simply a surface to paint upon. Forms may suggest figures, landscapes, or calligraphy, but remain deliberately unresolved, allowing each viewer to bring their own associations to the work.
Chromatic Coastlines
My earliest memory is sailboats on Lake Michigan. Since then, water has stayed with me: oceans, inlets, long horizons, and the way light changes everything.
Chromatic Coastlines translates those coastal moments into abstraction, using color, texture, and energy to suggest tide, weather, and distance.
I’m an intuitive painter. Painting is a conversation between the panel and me. I begin by building texture and laying in acrylic, then respond to what emerges, pushing and clarifying areas until the painting’s direction comes into focus. To inquire about a piece, please use my Contact page.
